Biography: Born and raised in B.C. Canada, Doug Sladen moved to Nashville in 1995. He has been with his partner, Linus, for 11 years. Doug is a Research Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Hearing and Speech Sciences at Vanderbilt University. He received his Master’s in Audiology from Western Washington U. in 1994 and his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt in 2006. His research interests include auditory development, pediatric hearing loss and cochlear implants.

Outside of work Doug has volunteered his time to the Boys and Girls Club, Nashville CARES and The LGBT Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Doug sits on the board for Nashville Pride, is Festival Chair for the 2007 Pride Event, and is President of the Nashville Grizzlies Rugby Football Club.
