Interested in Hosting a House Party?

What is a House Party?

A house party is a fast, easy, and fun way to raise money and educate voters on behalf of Tennessee Equality Project. We're hosting house parties across the state in support of the coalition's fight against the ballot initiative, which goes too far and puts blatant discrimination in our constitution for the first time ever.

Why House Parties?

The goals of a house party are simple. Raising money is the first priority. The second goal is to help the coalition build a network of fair-minded Tennesseans who may volunteer in the future, and the third goal is to educate people who are still undecided about this issue.

Whom should I invite?

Having a house party is easy. As the host, we ask you to invite every person you know to a party in your own home (unless co-hosting an event at someone else's home). At this event, people will donate money to Tennessee Equality Project and then have a chance to learn more about the coalition and our fight against the proposed amendment. The rest of the details are up to you!

What should be the theme?
Maybe you want to host a potluck dinner, where guests bring food and drinks to share. Maybe you want to liven things up with a theme party or organize around a favorite TV show or have a Sunday brunch. The Skies the Limit! Just remember that this party is designed to make money, so think "budget" and get creative!

We are energizing people to support the coalition's continuing fight. We must encourage fair-minded Tennesseans to come to the polls on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 to vote "NO on the state marriage constitutional amendment" in record numbers. You are about to become the driving force behind this grassroots movement to let extremist forces know that writing discrimination into our state constitution is dangerous and unfair.
